The Copland Foundation Patron: Rodney Davidson, AO, OBE, LLB. Rodney first met Alex when they both served on the board of the National Trust of Australia (Victoria). The Copland Foundation operates under guidelines set out in a Scheme approved by the Supreme Court of Victoria in 2006.   The Foundation is managed at any one time by no less than four trustees.  The current trustees are: Richard Heathcote - Chairman Atttingham Trust Summer School 1999   Current Position:  Director/Curator, Carrick Hill, Historic House Museum. Katherine Kovacic - Secretary B.V.Sc. (Hons), M.A. (Art History), Grad. Dip. Arts (Art History), F.G.A.A.,  Attingham Summer School 2007. Current Position:  Independent Art Curator; Director CK Minerals Pty Ltd. Katherine was a relative of Alex Copland. Michael Perry - Treasurer B.Com., FCA, MAICD. Chartered Accountant and currently Director and Treasurer of Museum Victoria, along with a number of other Government and corporate entities. Ian Stephenson Attingham Trust Summer School 1995 and Royal Collections 1999.  Current Position: University Curator, University of New England. Marcelle Scott B.App.Sci., Grad. Dip. Arts.   Current Position:  Conservator and Academic Programs Coordinator, Centre for Cultural Materials Conservation, University of Melbourne. Founding Chairman: Janeen (Nina) Stanton (13 March 1948 – 2 May 2009) B.A., Grad. Dip. Museum Studies, M. Ed. (Melb), Attingham Summer School, 2002 and Royal Collections 2005.    Nina was sole Executor of Alex Copland’s estate. The Role of the Copland Trustees The Copland Trustees manage a trust fund, (a fund raised from the sale of Alex Copland’s assets), as a common fund in perpetuity.  Their task is to apply the income derived as follows: To provide one scholarship each year to an Australian resident for the purposes of attending one of the Attingham Trust programs in the United Kingdom. To fund in any one year projects that fall under the umbrella of Alex Copland’s interests; related to one or more house museums, science museums, art galleries, fine and decorative art galleries and libraries or any other like museums, institutions, societies, organisations provided the public has access.
